Legacy Society

In addition to helping donors manage their lifetime giving, the Community Foundation also stands poised to help donors manage their legacy giving through their estate plans. By making plans now, you can be intentional about creating a timeless legacy. Let the Community Foundation guide you to support the organizations and causes you care about . . . forever. You don't have to be wealthy to make a legacy gift. Even a modest amount, given through your estate plan, can make a big impact over time.

Membership

The Legacy Society is a way for the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville to honor those who have made a lasting commitment to the Greater Huntsville area with a gift through a will, trust, fund agreement, or other planned gift designated for the Community Foundation or for an endowment fund managed by the Community Foundation in perpetuity. Membership is voluntary and free. As a Legacy Society member, you have the option to remain anonymous or to be recognized for your generosity. You may also receive invitations to designated Legacy Society events.

Legacy Society members inspire others to leave an enduring impact on the causes that matter to them.

How do I become a member?

Contact your professional advisor to discuss how you can make a gift to establish a permanent legacy with the Community Foundation:

  • Bequests through your will or trust
  • Beneficiary designation (retirement plans, life insurance, or bank accounts)
  • Remainder beneficiary of your donor advised fund
  • Gifts of life insurance
  • Charitable remainder trusts
  • Charitable lead trusts

Composing a legacy is often as simple as adding a few sentences to your estate plans.
